AWS Student Builder Groups (SBG) is an official global student leadership program supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS) Higher Education. It empowers university students around the world to master cloud computing, build real-world software, and connect with peer developers globally.
Access 400+ free courses on AWS Skill Builder, student-led architectural workshops, and guided labs.
Turn theoretical CS concepts into production systems using sponsored AWS cloud credits and team hackathons.
Publish technical articles on the global AWS Builder Center, showcase demo capstones, and mentor peers.
Go beyond traditional textbooks. Deploy Docker containers on AWS EKS, serverless Lambda backends, and generative AI with Amazon Bedrock.
Tackling cloud architecture alone is daunting. Peer study circles, group debugging sessions, and team hackathons build lasting confidence.
Direct access to Pearson VUE certification vouchers, AWS promotional credits, Credly badges, and community swag right at Sejong.
From an ambitious individual initiative to an official campus-wide cloud movement.
AWS Student Builder Group at Sejong University began with Shawkat Hossain Maruf, who was selected as the campus's first-ever Student Builder Group Leader (SBGL). Starting with zero infrastructure and no existing campus blueprint, he built the entire chapter from the ground up: presenting the program vision to university faculty, securing official faculty advisory support, handpicking a specialized Core Team of student leaders, developing custom portal and Discord automation infrastructure, and establishing the official Meetup and social channels. What began as a solo effort from scratch has transformed into Sejong's flagship bilingual community for future cloud architects.
Secured university faculty advisory support and administrative recognition to establish institutional credibility and campus resource access.
Handpicked student leaders across Technical, Events, and Media tracks to establish an agile, dedicated student executive committee.
Engineered the custom web portal and automated Discord onboarding bot from scratch for student role provisioning and bilingual collaboration.
Established the official Meetup.com page, launched brand-compliant social channels, and opened registrations for both domestic and international students.
Our leadership team consists of passionate student builders and academic advisors who guide curriculum, organize events, and mentor the community.
